Modern shag rugs come in all manner of materials from wool and sheepskin to leather and cotton chenille shag rugs amongst many others. If you are in the market for such a thing for your home but aren’t sure exactly what you want then you will want to keep a few brands in mind when you start your search. Manufacturers such as Couristan, Dalyn, Surya and Concord Global are worth a look, but as you do your research you will no doubt find your favorites for yourself.

There’s a place called The Rug Market that offers a very unique floor covering solution with their cotton jersey shag rugs that are beautiful, soft and come in lots of colors and are reasonably priced starting at just under $30 and going up to about $350 for the largest designs. In as similar price category is one of the most popular styles of shag, which comes from Concord Global, makers of a shaggy zebra rug that starts at about $140 for the smaller sizes, and about $240 for the largest.

Another brand that is very good quality and well known is Shaw rugs and they have the line called Shaw Ultra Nylon Shag which is self explanatory and costs from about $150 to over $1,000 depending on the size of the piece. These are very funky modern round shag rugs and square and oval and lots of great shapes and contemporary colors to match your décor. Since Shaw is mostly about synthetic fiber rugs you may want something natural, and the company to go to is Anji Mountain. They have bamboo shag rugs that are starting at about $250, and the larger carpets about $700. They are luxurious and come in neutral and vibrant colors.

There is no list of modern shag rugs or round shag carpet designs that would be complete without mentioning the Couristan collection, like the Haight Street Passion rugs which are rather expensive but very elegant starting at around $400 to over $1,800. Another affordable choice is the Surya shag designs that start at just $90. There are some very large carpets by Surya that also cost over $1,000. You can compare similar products from Kas, especially in their Shaggy Oriental Palm Springs designs that start at around $110.
