Cornhole Bag Game – How To Win Every Time

Are you one of the millions of Americans who have recently started playing the game of cornhole?  If so, you know how addicting this nascent sport can be.  You also know that it can get very frustrating when you always get beat by the so-called “pros”.  Now you know who I am talking about.  These “pros” are the ones who can throw ringers with their eyes closed and can win with several different throwing techniques.  Are you tired of losing to these “pros”?  Is your official title of “King of Backyard Games” in doubt because of your endless losses?”   Well, it’s time to let those defeats be a thing of the past.  Here are some tips to help you win in cornhole every time.

First and foremost, let’s make sure you are throwing your cornhole bean bags properly.  It is recommended that you give your bags some sort of spin.  This is to prevent the knuckle-balling effect which inevitably occurs whenever zero spin is placed on any object.  These knuckleball throws will jump in every which direction like a drunk butterfly.  In cornhole, accuracy is important.  A spin allows the bags to literally cut through the air, and provide for the greatest possible accuracy.

Next, it is advised that you throw you cornhole bags like you would a Frisbee.  This means the bag is always flat and parallel to the ground in flight.  However, this tossing technique should be thrown underhanded and not across your body like a typical Frisbee toss.  This sort of Frisbee throw for cornhole is important because it means the bag will land perfectly flat on the board every time.  If your bag lands on its side, it will roll end-over-end and could end up anywhere on the playing surface.  If it lands flat, however, you can essentially control where the bag lands and where it slides to.

Last, it is important to aim your cornhole bags approximately two feet in front of the hole.  If you do so, you can count on the bags sliding right into the hole for a ringer.  Three points!  Use the slippery surface of the boards to your advantage and don’t go for the basketball swish – it doesn’t work in corn toss.

If you follow the steps listed above, you will find yourself scoring points like it’s nobody’s business.  Follow these guidelines and you’re guaranteed to win every time and you will reclaim your title as the “King of Backyard Games”.
