If you are like most people, you probably haven’t really noticed the fact that new toaster designs are available these days. The reality is that people don’t usually even think about toasters unless the one they have breaks and they need to buy a new one. Since many toasters can have a lifespan of a decade or so, new styles can go unnoticed for a long time. Despite this, appliance manufacturers have developed some great new toaster styles. Let’s take a look at some of them.
One of the best new functions that I’ve seen on new toasters is a little button that you can press to add just a bit more time. This is for those all-too-frequent situations where the bread isn’t quite done yet, but pushing the lever down a second time will burn the dickens out of the bread. It is a simple idea with great functionality. Another great new function is a lever that will lift the bread up high enough to easily grab it. How many times have you had to “fish” a piece of toast out of the slot because it didn’t come up over the top? I know this has happened to me too many times!
Another great idea that manufacturers had was to simply add a few more colors to their product lines. Impossible only a few years ago, you can now get yellow toasters which can do a lot to add color to a boring kitchen. In addition to different colors, you can also get a Disney toaster. You might be thinking that they just have some stickers on it or something simple like that. This unique idea actually has plates that you put into the slots that burn images onto the slices of bread. If you ask me, it is a great way to get a picky little eater to have a sandwich, or add a special touch to a birthday party!
